Hunting Top End Bucks By Ralph S. Norris

Ralph S. Norris was raised on the Norris Family farm in Livermore Falls, Maine in the 1950’s, where he began a lifetime pursuit of the whitetail deer. He is the youngest son of the late Elwin S. Norris. He now lives in Leeds, Maine and on his ranch in Dimmit County, South Texas in the heart of hunting’s famous Golden Triangle.

He was a former Hunting Guide and a State of Maine Game Warden and later a real estate broker and real estate investor. For the last twenty years he has been a full time professional hunter. He has hunted nearly every species of big game and reptile on the continent. His pursuit of the whitetail deer has taken him nearly everywhere that deer exist and he has harvested more than one hundred mature bucks.

His favorite hunts are in the Rocky Mountains in the wilderness areas above the timberline (9000 feet and above) hunting huge mule deer. He has been on no less than forty such hunts and has bagged some trophy mule deer over two hundred inches. Some hunts he has lived in the wilderness alone for over a month. In 2002 Ralph was flown into and drop-camped in Alaska’s Brooks Range where he hunted for a month and never saw another person.

The author has hunted with some of America’s most famous hunters and he is regarded by many to be one of America’s top hunters.
